How to use the Forsyth County Sales Tool

NOTE: this tool only searches qualified residential home sales recorded between Jan 1, 2005 and Dec 31, 2008. View disqualification reasons for explanations as to why a known sale is not included in this application.

Please read the following but if additional help is needed, it is available by calling the Tax Administration Office at 703-2300, and selecting option 2.

Search/Select Menu:

Selection Mode:

Further search functions are available using the Select Mode. These functions work in conjunction with the above-described search options.
  • Create New Selection: This is the default function. As long as this mode is selected, every search will clear the previous search.

  • Add To Selection: This function will add new results to previous results. For example, search for all sales on a specific street. Then select Add To Selection, then search another specific street. The results of the two searches will display together.

  • Remove From Selected: This function will remove new results from previous results. For example, select a large area on the map. Then select Remove From Selected. Then select a smaller area inside the first search. The second area will be removed from the selection.

  • Select From Selected: This function selects a subset from previous results. For example, select a large area on the map. Then select Select From Selected. Then select a smaller area inside the first search. The second area will become the new selection.
All results will display on the map and in the selection results in the panel on the left. Ten sales will display at one time. Click Next to display the next 10 sales. The 10 sales displayed in the panel show on the map as numbers. Map tips are visible by hovering mouse over the number. All other sales in the selection show as push-pins on the map.

Selection Results Details:
The selection results in the left panel display a few items of data. Click the Assessment Level Link for an explanation of the number displayed. Click GeoData Explorer to open GeoData with the selected record displayed. Click Record Card to display the property record card of the current record.

Result Actions:

Result Actions are actions you can perform on any search results.
  • Zoom To Selected: Zooms map to area of selected records.

  • Clear Selected: Clears selection.

  • Show Data Table: Generates a table display of selected records. This table can be exported to a variety of formats: pdf, xls, rtf, csv.

Map Layers:

Map Layers show the layers available to view on the map. If the layer is dimmed, the zoom level of the map is too large for display.

Map Display Tools:

Basic map tools are available: zoom in, zoom out, pan, full extent, print.
